According to India's Ministry of External Affairs, the mission was carried out in close coordination with the Government of Venezuela following the devastating earthquake that struck the country.The ministry said Acting President Delcy Eloina Rodríguez Gómez expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for India's prompt humanitarian assistance and support.On June 26, the Indian Air Force deployed two C-17 Globemaster III aircraft carrying a 41-member medical contingent from the 60 Para Field Hospital.The team included surgeons, anesthesiologists, orthopedic specialists, dentists, physicians, paramedics, and support personnel, who established a field hospital to provide emergency medical care.According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the Indian field hospital treated hundreds of earthquake survivors during the mission.Medical teams carried out more than 8,000 medical procedures and laboratory tests, including over 20 major surgeries, providing critical healthcare services to those affected by the disaster.The ministry said the successful completion of Operation Amistad reflects India's continued commitment to providing humanitarian assistance and disaster relief to countries in need.

20:02 10.07.2026 (Updated: 20:09 10.07.2026) India has successfully concluded Operation Amistad, its humanitarian relief mission to earthquake-hit Venezuela, with the Indian medical contingent returning to New Delhi after completing emergency assistance operations.
According to India's Ministry of External Affairs, the mission was carried out in close coordination with the Government of Venezuela following the devastating earthquake that struck the country.
The ministry said Acting President Delcy Eloina Rodríguez Gómez expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for India's prompt humanitarian assistance and support.
"The Acting President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela thanked Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for India's timely assistance, support, and solidarity," the ministry said.
