Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom will sign an intergovernmental memorandum with India on the development of cooperation in the transportation of goods along the Northern Sea Route, according to a Russian government order published on the legal acts portal on Tuesday.

"Instruct state nuclear energy corporation Rosatom to sign the specified memorandum on behalf of the Russian government," the order said.

Rosatom is the infrastructure operator of the Northern Sea Route.
Interest in the Northern Sea Route (NSR) among foreign countries is increasingly evident and is growing given the risks to southern routes, Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev previously stated. He recalled that intergovernmental formats for cooperation between Russia and India on the NSR have been created.
