An Indian crew member was killed and six other Indian nationals were injured after two UAE-flagged oil tankers were reportedly struck in the Strait of Hormuz, Hindustan Samachar reports.
Besides the Indian fatality, four of the injured are reported to be in critical condition.
According to the UAE Ministry of Defence, the missile strikes targeted two UAE-flagged tankers sailing in Omani waters within the Strait of Hormuz.
The incident followed a third consecutive night of US military strikes on Iran. The operations, ordered by President Donald Trump, targeted multiple locations simultaneously, including the southern port city of Bandar Abbas and the islands of Kish, Qeshm, and Abu Musa, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said. Iranian authorities confirmed the strikes and said several locations were hit by US drone attacks.
CENTCOM also claimed it plans to resume a naval blockade of Iranian ports from Tuesday afternoon, a move that reportedly pushed global oil prices up by more than 9%.
