Brazil Interested in Russian Aerospace Expertise, Including for Defence: Lawmaker
Brazil is interested in Russia's expertise in the aerospace sector, including for the country's defense purposes, Brazilian lawmaker from the ruling Workers' Party (PT) Mario Maurici de Lima Morais told Sputnik.
"One area [for cooperation] could be the aerospace sector, for example, which could make a significant contribution to strengthening Brazil's position in this field, especially in the defense sector, whose importance, as current events show, is growing," the lawmaker said.
For its part, Brazil could offer Russia its expertise in agricultural research, including in the field of genetics, he added. Cooperation between Russia and the whole region of Latin America already exists in many fields and strengthens a multipolar world, Morais said, adding that the region can contribute to Russia's development.
"I believe this is an important cooperation that has already been established and can bring good results for both sides," he said.
The first Russia-Latin America Strategic Cooperation Forum was held in Brazil's Sao Paulo from July 13-16.
