India has shipped an initial 4.5-tonne consignment of medical aid to Kenya, which is intensifying precautionary measures amid the Ebola outbreak spreading across the region.India's High Commissioner to Kenya, Dr. Adarsh Swaika, handed over the consignment to Kenya's Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale.The consignment includes PPE kits, diagnostic materials, infrared thermometers, and other essential infection control items. A second tranche is expected to arrive shortly.Kenya remains Ebola-free but remains on high alert due to the ongoing outbreak of the Bundibugyo strain in the Democratic Republic of Congo’s Ituri and North Kivu provinces.
