A Russian man detained in the Nizhny Novgorod region was collecting information about Russian military-industrial complex enterprises for the Ukrainian special services, Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) said on Friday.
"The Federal Security Service of Russia, in cooperation with the Investigative Committee of Russia, detained in the Nizhny Novgorod region a Russian citizen, born in 1975, a member of the terrorist organization Artpodgotovka, banned in Russia, who collected intelligence information about enterprises of the Russian defense industry complex in the interests of the Ukrainian special services," the FSB said in a statement.
The FSB has also established that the detainee, disguised as an employee of a logistics transport company, conducted reconnaissance of strategically important facilities in seven regions of Russia and sent information to the curators of the terrorist organization via Telegram in order to undermine the national security of the country, the statement read.
"During the investigative actions, the defendant confessed to conducting intelligence of Russian military enterprises in the interests of the terrorist organization and its leader Maltsev V. V. N. (put on the international wanted list for organizing a terrorist community and planning terrorist attacks in Russia). The terrorist has been living in France since 2018, cooperating with local and Ukrainian special services," the statement read.
