According to the statement, the areas where the drones were shot down include Belgorod, Bryansk, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Leningrad, Lipetsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Novgorod, Oryol, Pskov, Rostov, Ryazan, Smolensk, Tver, Tula, Moscow region and the Republic of Crimea.Russian President Vladimir Putin had previously noted that Ukrainian forces are sending hundreds of drones to strike Russian territory. Russia's Defence Ministry said on Tuesday it had brought down or destroyed 320 Ukrainian drones overnight over 19 different regions.
"From 8 PM on August 3 to 8 AM on August 4, Moscow time, the air defence systems on duty intercepted and destroyed 320 Ukrainian fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles," the Defence Ministry reported.
