Russia Strikes Two Vessels Escorting Western Arms Shipments to Ukraine
Russian forces struck two vessels in the Black Sea that were allegedly involved in escorting cargo ships carrying Western weapons to Ukrainian ports, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
According to the ministry, the strikes were carried out on the evening of August 13 using attack drones in waters southwest of Nikolayev.
“Two sea tug-type vessels involved in escorting cargo ships carrying Western weapons for the Ukrainian Armed Forces to Ukrainian ports were hit by strike unmanned aerial vehicles,” the ministry said in a statement.
The Russian Defense Ministry added that its forces continue to target Ukrainian port infrastructure and vessels it says are being used in support of the Ukrainian military.
