Russia is not opposed to involving Europeans in building a security architecture in Eurasia, but only on the condition that they abandon their hostile policies, Ambassador-at-Large at the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Trofimov told Sputnik.
"The Russian initiative does not target anyone. We envision the future security system in Eurasia as a pan-continental framework involving all interested countries, including, potentially, those European EU and NATO states that renounce hostile policies and recognise the inevitability of applying the principle of indivisible security in practice," Trofimov said.
Earlier the day, European Council President Antonio Costa admitted that the EU is not striving to maintain neutrality when it comes to the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.
"We are not neutral. We are supporters of Ukraine," Costa said while speaking in Kiev.
