16:37 29.08.2026 (Updated: 17:08 29.08.2026) The West has effectively placed Ukraine under external management and has been pushing to escalate the conflict, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin told Sputnik.
"We are now dealing with a situation where Western sponsors are effectively governing Kiev-controlled territories from abroad, while footing the bill of the Zelensky regime and de facto depriving Ukraine of genuine legal subjectivity," Galuzin said.
Ukraine's sponsors continue to push for the escalation of the conflict as a means to undermine Russia, as if a political and diplomatic settlement is not in their interests, the minister said.
