The Russian air defense intercepted and destroyed 494 Ukrainian drones over Russia last night, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Sunday.
"During the past night, from 8:00 p.m. Moscow time [17:00 GMT] on August 29 this year to 8:30 a.m. Moscow time on August 30, a total of 494 Ukrainian aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles were intercepted and destroyed by the air defense forces on duty," the ministry said.
The drones were destroyed over the Leningrad, Bryansk, Belgorod, Kaluga, Kursk, Tver, Smolensk, Oryol, Pskov, Tula, Novgorod, Rostov regions, and the Moscow region, Krasnodar Krai, the Republic of Crimea, and over the waters of the Azov and Black Seas, the ministry added.
Meanwhile, Ukraine lost up to 375 soldiers in combat against Russia's Tsentr (Center) battlegroup over the past 24 hours, in addition to losses in manpower and equipment on other fronts, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Sunday.
"The losses of the Ukrainian armed formations amounted to up to 375 military personnel, Canada-made Senator armored fighting vehicle, seven motor vehicles and three field artillery guns," the ministry said in a statement.
This is in addition to over 230 Ukrainian soldiers eliminated over the past day by the Sever (North) battlegroup, up to 340 by the Vostok (East) battlegroup, over 210 by the Zapad (West) battlegroup, up to 240 by the Yug (South) battlegroup, and up to 30 by the Dnepr battlegroup, the ministry said.
