19:49 02.09.2026 (Updated: 19:50 02.09.2026) Russia maintains communication channels with the United States at various levels, but normal working contacts between Moscow and Washington are still a long way off, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova told Sputnik on Wednesday.
"Of course, normal working contacts are a long way off, although indeed, communication is taking place at various levels, documents are being exchanged, and so on. It is possible to convey the necessary signals to Washington and to Washington through various communication channels," Zakharova said in an interview on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF-2026).
