Ukraine's available mobilisation potential will be nearly exhausted within a year, said Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Director Sergei Naryshkin.
"Europe is too soft and unprepared for a large‑scale, devastating war with Russia, which is why Western politicians are using the myth of a threat from the East," said Director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Sergei Naryshkin.
West Views Post-Soviet Space as Buffer Against Russia, China
The West views the former Soviet states as a buffer against Russia and China that is crucial to inflicting a strategic defeat on its rivals, said Naryshkin.
"As for the post-Soviet space as a whole, Western intelligence documents describe it primarily as an arena of confrontation between the West and new centers of power. In other words, Europeans deny the countries of the region genuine geopolitical subjectivity, seeing in them essentially a buffer zone, control over which would allow them to inflict a strategic defeat on their existential opponents – Russia and China," Naryshkin said at a meeting of security and intelligence chiefs of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) near St. Petersburg.
