A magnitude 5.3 earthquake struck China's Tibet Autonomous Region near the border with Nepal, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre said on Tuesday.
The epicenter was located 104 kilometers (64.6 miles) north of the Nepalese city of Pokhara, with the hypocenter at a depth of 35 kilometers (21.8 miles), according to seismologists.

No casualties or damage have been reported.

In an updated report, the seismologists downgraded the earthquake's magnitude to 4.9.

In the morning of August 26, a seismic event on the China-Nepal border triggered a powerful flood that killed more than 1,300 people. It was later determined that a glacier collapse had occurred in the region.
