Russia's UAC to Sign Several Agreements With India on Il-114-300 at Innoprom Exhibition: CEO
Russia's United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of state corporation Rostec) has made significant progress in negotiations with India and will sign agreements on Il-114-300 aircraft at the Innoprom exhibition in India, UAC head Vadim Badekha said on Wednesday.
On January 28, UAC signed a preliminary agreement with Indian company Flamingo Aerospace for the delivery of six Il-114-300 aircraft at the Wings India air show in Hyderabad.
"We are continuing the work initiated at the 'Wings of India' exhibition last January. Over the past six months, we have made significant progress in negotiations and reached a number of agreements regarding the IL-114-300, which we will sign at INNOPROM India," Badekha was quoted as saying by the UAC in a press release.
The UAC head also said that an agreement on localizing production of the SJ-100 aircraft in India is 80% finalized and is expected to be signed soon.
"A prime example of such collaboration is our project to localize SJ-100 production with HAL Corporation. To date, we have finalized over 80% of the licensing agreement and plan to sign it soon. We expect to conclude a contract with the first Indian operator at the upcoming Aero India 2027 exhibition," Badekha said.
In January, Russian Deputy Industry and Trade Minister Gennady Abramenkov told reporters that Russia sees India as a potential hub for localizing aircraft production. The UAC and Indian state-owned Hindustan Aeronautics Limited also signed an agreement on joint licensed production of SJ-100 aircraft at that time.
The first international industrial exhibition Innoprom. India is being held September 9-11 in New Delhi on the eve of the 18th BRICS summit. More than 120 companies from Russia and India are showcasing their products at the event.
