President Putin to Fly to India on Thursday for BRICS Summit: Kremlin

Russian President Vladimir Putin will fly to India on Thursday to attend the BRICS summit, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
“The President continues to prepare for the upcoming BRICS summit, which will take place in Delhi. The President will be flying there this evening,” Peskov said.“There will be a whole range of bilateral meetings, as well as multilateral formats within the BRICS framework.”
Putin’s visit to India to run from 11 to 13 September, Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov, announced.
The president’s schedule includes the following:
Putin will take part in the BRICS summit during his visit.
On the sidelines of the summit, he is expected to hold several bilateral meetings, including talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the President of South Africa, the Prime Ministers of Malaysia and Ethiopia, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and the head of the New Development Bank.
Putin and Modi will jointly visit the Innoprom industrial exhibition in New Delhi.
On 11 September, Putin will address the plenary session of the BRICS Business Forum, where he is expected to speak about trade and economic cooperation among the bloc’s members.
Eight countries, including Russia, Egypt, Indonesia, China, South Africa and Ethiopia, will be represented at the leaders’ summit.
Russia’s delegation will include Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk and presidential aide Maxim Oreshkin.
On 13 September, Putin will take part in a BRICS+ session.
No formal meeting between Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping is currently planned at the summit, although the two leaders may have an informal conversation on the sidelines.
The BRICS summit will be held in New Delhi on September 12–13. Ushakov previously said Putin plans to hold talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the summit.
