Russia is ready to offer India comprehensive industrial projects in regional aviation, including the localisation of SJ-100 passenger aircraft production, Russian Industry and Trade Minister Anton Alikhanov said at the international industrial exhibition INNOPROM. India.
The minister highlighted growing cooperation between Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) and India’s state-owned Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), including plans to localise SJ-100 production in India. According to HAL estimates, Indian airlines could require up to 300 aircraft of the type.
“Our proposal is comprehensive: it includes upgrading production facilities, localising the manufacture of components for aircraft repair, maintenance and assembly, and training Indian specialists. In the future, a similar approach could also be applied to the Il-114-300 aircraft,” Alikhanov stated.
