Russia has developed the Krechet, a fixed-wing interceptor capable of reaching speeds of up to 450 km/h, enabling it to chase down and intercept enemy UAVs, Alexey Chadayev, head of the Ushkuynik research and production center, told Sputnik.
Powered by two electric motors and launched from a catapult, the Krechet interceptor drone features backward-swept wings that reduce its overall size while significantly boosting roll maneuverability.
The platform is engineered for flexibility, capable of either carrying a dedicated warhead or executing high-mass kinetic strikes to ram and destroy targets mid-air. With its advanced speed and mass, the Krechet is fast enough to easily track and intercept Ukrainian fixed-wing drones like the Lyutyi, effectively neutralizing threats that travel at top speeds of up to 200 km/h

The Krechet is engineered to rapidly reach an enemy drone’s flight path, get behind it and carry out the interception without needing to be deployed with firing teams or on mobile platforms.
