Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded the BRICS summit in New Delhi on Sunday by urging participants to back the agreements reached with concrete actions that would transform people's lives.
"BRICS is entering its third decade. The world now expects more from us than just ideas and commitments, it expects tangible results. I am confident that through joint efforts, we will certainly live up to these expectations," the Prime Minister said in his closing remarks.
Modi said that the implementation of agreements should have clear timelines and that the benefits of cooperation should reach every individual.
"We will work together to ensure that our cooperation mechanisms go beyond mere documents and bring about real change in people's lives," the prime minister said.
Modi also thanked the participants and their teams, wished everyone a safe journey home and wished China success in hosting the association's next summit.
The 18th BRICS summit took place in New Delhi on September 12–13 under India's chairmanship. Following the meeting, the leaders adopted the New Delhi Declaration, outlining the direction for future cooperation among the member nations.
