India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar arrived in Paro, Bhutan, on Wednesday for a three-day official visit. During the trip, he will hold meetings and bilateral talks with the country's top leadership.
Bhutan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Jaishankar will be in the country from September 16 to 18. During the visit, he will meet with Bhutan's King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay. He will also hold bilateral talks with Bhutan's Foreign and Foreign Trade Minister Lyonpo D.N. Dhungyel.
"Kuzuzangpo la Bhutan! Delighted to arrive in Paro today. Thank you Foreign Minister Lyonpo D.N. Dhungyel for the warm welcome," Jaishankar wrote on X.
He added that he looks forward to the meetings ahead to further the special ties of friendship between India and Bhutan.
According to the ministry, the visit is part of the tradition of regular high-level contacts between the two countries and aims to further strengthen India-Bhutan friendship and cooperation.
