Ganges Water Level in Northern India Crosses Warning Mark: Reports

The water line in the Ganges River in northern India has reached dangerous levels amid heavy downpours, the CNBC TV18 broadcaster reported on Sunday.
The authorities have urged residents and visitors of the Rishikesh city not to approach the river banks in order to avoid accidents, the report said.
Earlier in the day, the Times of India reported that at least 56 people had died as a result of prolonged rainfalls that caused flooding in northern India.
Reuters reported that water lines in at least five rivers in the region, including the Ganges, had reached dangerous levels.
