The Russian air defense forces intercepted and destroyed 505 Ukrainian UAVs overnight, the Russian Defence Ministry said on Friday.
"Over the past night, between 20:00 Moscow time [17:00 GMT] on October 8 and 8:00 Moscow time on October 9, air defence forces on duty intercepted and destroyed 505 Ukrainian aircraft‑type unmanned aerial vehicles," the ministry said in a statement.

Russian President Vladimir Putin had previously noted that Ukrainian forces are sending hundreds of drones to strike Russian territory.

He emphasised that the Kiev regime is deliberately targeting civilians in the regions, attacking civilian infrastructure and transport, including ambulances and agricultural machinery. The head of state described the methods used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces and Kiev's foreign mercenaries as terrorist.
