Indian Sailors Rescued from Burning Tanker off UAE Coast

All 22 Indian sailors aboard an oil tanker near the coast of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have been rescued safely.
The Indian Consulate General in Dubai confirmed this on Sunday, adding that the incident involved the tanker MT GEM No. 2, which was near the coast of Ras Al Khaimah. The vessel had 22 Indian crew members on board.
"All crew members have been rescued and are safe. The Consulate General is in contact with the UAE authorities and is providing all possible assistance and support to the Indian sailors,” the Consulate General said in a statement posted on X.
The Consulate has learnt of an incident involving vessel MT GEM No. 2 off Ras Al Khaimah coast, that had 22 Indian crew members on board. All crew members have been rescued and are safe. The Consulate is in touch with UAE authorities and is extending all possible assistance and support to the Indian seafarers. @IndembAbuDhabi @MEAIndia

Earlier, on Friday, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported that a tanker off the UAE coast had caught fire after being struck by a projectile. However, the name of the vessel was not disclosed.
