Russian oil companies are ready to start exporting diesel fuel, and all the necessary procedures will take two to three weeks, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said on Thursday.
Negotiations are currently underway on commercial contracts for the supply of diesel fuel from Russia to the United States and global markets, the official said.
"In order to make deliveries, it is necessary to conclude contracts, load fuel, charter a vessel and ship it. All this takes two to three weeks. Therefore, it is necessary to conclude agreements faster now. Our companies are already ready for shipment, immediately at any moment," Novak told reporters on the sidelines of the Russian Energy Week forum.
Russia will continue to import petrol until at least the end of the year to meet domestic demand and build up reserves, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said on Thursday.

"We will continue to import [petrol] at least until the end of the year, because we need to both supply the domestic market and, on the other hand, increase our reserves, which we reduced during the summer to meet the domestic market demand," Novak stated.

The volume of imported petrol supplies to Russia is stable and accounts for approximately 10% of the domestic market, the official said.
