Any country, including in Central Asia, can become a victim of a "color revolution" orchestrated by the West, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Friday at a Central Asia and Afghanistan security conference.
"Any country in the world, including our partners in Central Asia, could fall victim to the West's geopolitical expansion and color revolutions orchestrated by the West," he said at the plenary session of the CSTO, CIS, and SCO Conference on Security in Central Asia and Afghanistan.
The minister emphasized that the West was trying to create tension along the borders of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).
"Their role in creating a man-made crisis in Ukraine is well-known, as they continuously expanded NATO over the years to the east, toward the Russian borders," Lavrov said.
The West contributed to the crisis by supporting the "explicitly neo-nazi, Russophobic regime in Kiev," the minister noted.
