India supports all efforts to resolve the situation in the Persian Gulf through dialogue and diplomacy, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said during a meeting with UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
“The situation in the Persian Gulf remains a matter of grave concern. We will continue to engage and support all efforts aimed at advancing dialogue and diplomacy,” Jaishankar said.
He stressed the importance of ensuring the free, secure and uninterrupted movement of trade goods, energy resources and fertilisers, highlighting their significance for regional stability and global supply chains.
Jaishankar also thanked the UAE leadership for its concern for Indian citizens living in the country.
Despite global economic difficulties and regional challenges, economic ties between India and the UAE continue to expand, the minister said. Bilateral trade has exceeded $100 billion, while mutual investment is also growing.
He added that cooperation in defence, energy and technology was taking on increasing strategic importance, underscoring the breadth of the India-UAE partnership.
