19:22 21.10.2026 (Updated: 19:23 21.10.2026) Countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) oppose unilateral coercive measures, which negatively impact global economic growth, according to the final declaration of SCO Council of Heads of Government adopted on Wednesday.
"The heads of delegations note that the member states are opposed to unilateral coercive measures that contradict the UN Charter and other norms of international law. They emphasize the negative impact of such measures on global economic growth and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals," the declaration read.
SCO countries advocate for increasing representation of developing countries in international economic and financial institutions, the document said.
