Power supplies in the Zaporozhye Region have been disrupted due to an incident on the main power transmission lines outside the region, with emergency repair works currently underway, regional Governor Evgeny Balitsky said on Saturday.
"As a result of an enemy drone attack on the main power transmission lines located outside our region, the power supply in the Zaporozhye Region has been disrupted," Balitsky wrote on Max.
The governor urged everyone to remain calm, noting that repair efforts are ongoing and will continue until the situation is stabilized. He added that the restoration work is being closely monitored by the federal authorities.
Meanwhile, the repair of electrical equipment at the Zaporozhye Thermal Power Plant (TPP), necessary for reliable external power supply to the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), was successfully completed, Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev said on Friday.
"Repair crews of the Zaporozhye NPP, which is part of Rosatom's nuclear power plants, have successfully completed repair work on the electrical equipment of the Zaporozhye Thermal Power Plant," Likhachev said.
The equipment, which ensures the transmission of electricity from the Ferrosplavnaya line to the ZNPP, was critically damaged in September as a result of Ukrainian shellings, Likhachev added.
