Russian air defence forces intercepted and destroyed 142 Ukrainian drones over Russian regions overnight, the Russian Defence Ministry said on Sunday.
"During the past night, duty air defense forces intercepted and destroyed 142 Ukrainian aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles over the territories of Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Kaluga, Tula, Oryol, Voronezh and Rostov Regions, the Moscow Region, the Republic of Crimea and over the waters of the Azov Sea," the statement read.
Russian President Vladimir Putin had previously noted that Ukrainian forces are sending hundreds of drones to strike Russian territory.
He emphasised that the Kiev regime is deliberately targeting civilians in the regions, attacking civilian infrastructure and transport, including ambulances and agricultural machinery. The head of state described the methods used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces and Kiev's foreign mercenaries as terrorist.
