Veteran Indian filmmaker SS Rajamouli, who shot to fame for his blockbuster movie 'Baahubali', has once again brought laurels to India after a song from his super-hit Telugu language movie RRR, Naatu Naatu, bagged the 'Best Song' award at the Golden Globe Awards 2023.
Naatu Naatu has become the first Asian song ever to have won a Golden Globe Award.
Composed by veteran music director M.M. Keeravaani and sung by Kala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj, the song is making people worldwide dance to its foot-tapping tune and rhythm.
The cast of RRR, N. T. R Jr, Ram Charan along with S.S. Rajamouli and Keeravaani jumped from their seats at the award function after the announcement of their historic win.
Overwhelmed while accepting the award, Keeravani thanked his wife, line producer M.M. Srivalli, seated in the audience, and to everyone who made this song a global hit, including singers, Kala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj, choreographer Prem Rakshith and lyricist Chandrabose.
"This award actually belongs to someone else, not me... I'm going to repeat the tradition. The award belongs to my brother and the writer of the movie, SS Rajamouli for his vision. I thank him for this constant trust in my work and support," Keeravani said.
He also thanked the superstars N.T. Rama Rao Jr and Ram Charan for dancing with full stamina for the song.
