A high-level Taliban* delegation is set to visit Pakistan in the coming days, Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Asif confirmed on Tuesday.
Addressing the media in Islamabad, Asif once again asked the Afghan leadership to prevent militants from using its soil to launch attacks against Pakistan, reminding them of their commitment to the agreements signed between the two nations.

"We asked them [the Taliban] to honor the accord and they agreed to our request," the Pakistani minister said.

Last month, Asif paid a visit to Kabul to hold talks with the Taliban about the mounting threat of terrorism allegedly emanating from Afghanistan.
The discussions between the two sides included the formulation of strategies for countering the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP)** and Daesh Khorasan*** terrorist groups.
However, the nation's security forces continue to be targeted by alleged TTP members.
On Monday, a suicide bomber killed nine policemen and injured another 13 in Pakistan's Balochistan province.
Last week, two Pakistani troops died after militants opened fire in the North Waziristan tribal district.
Apart from this, the restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, which borders Afghanistan in the west, has faced militant attacks regularly, from police stations to counter-terrorism officials and paramilitary forces, all coming under fire from alleged members of the TTP.
