A toy train from Matheran, a popular hill station in the Indian state of Maharashtra, was derailed while heading toward Neral station, railway officials said on Tuesday.
No passengers were injured in the incident.
Talking to the media, a railway spokesman said that one of the wheels on the Toy Train engine, which had left Matheran at around 16:00 IST (10:30 GMT) on Saturday carrying about 95 passengers, derailed near Jumma Patti station.
The passengers immediately left the train and set off for their destinations by cab, he added.
The railway staff informed the media that the train was re-railed at around 21:00 IST and was brought back to Neral station, at the foot of Matheran hills, by 22:30.
After the incident, the last train from Neral to Matheran was cancelled, but passengers were refunded their fare.
The spokesman said that the Toy Train moves at a slow speed and sometimes when coaches derail, support staff travelling along with the train just lift them and put them back on the tracks.
India witnessed its deadliest train crash on Friday evening after three-trains – Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express and the Coromandel Express and a goods train – all collided with each other.
More than 270 people died in the tragic incident and more than 1,100 were injured.
