Cristiano Ronaldo completed a unique double on Tuesday, becoming the first footballer to achieve 200 caps in international football a decade after being the youngest to appear in 100 games for Portugal.
At 27, the former Real Madrid winger was the youngest to feature in 100 matches for Portugal in 2012.
CR7's 200th appearance for Portugal turned out to be quite memorable as he produced a sensational goal in the 89th minute to secure a 1-0 victory over Iceland in the European qualifiers at the Laugardalsvollur Stadium in Reykjavik.
After spearheading the 2016 Euro champions to a hard-fought win over Iceland, the Funchal-born forward stated that he was very proud of his accomplishment.

"So happy. It's that kind of moment that you never expect to do it, 200 caps. For me it's an unbelievable achievement," Ronaldo told UEFA after the match. "Of course, to score the winning goal, it's even more special."
On being asked to choose the most special match amongst all the games he has played in his career, the 38-year-old failed to pick one.
"It's hard to pick just one. I've had so many beautiful moments. The Euro 2016, the Nations League, but there are some many beautiful moments, and that's why I prefer to say the next game is the best one," he noted.
However, this isn't the first time, the former Manchester United attacker has rewritten history in the sport.
In March 2022, Ronaldo became professional football's all-time top scorer, going past Josef Bican's previous record of 805 goals. His current tally stands at 838 goals.
Besides, he has two other important world records on the international stage under his belt.
With 123 goals, he is the leading goal scorer and has the most hat-tricks (10) in international football.
