After being caught on camera by the police, a Revenue Officer in India's Madhya Pradesh (MP) state swallowed the money allegedly received as a bribe, in order to hide the incriminating evidence.
The incident, which occurred on Monday in the state's Katni district, quickly gained widespread attention after a video of the incident went viral.
In the clip, Gajendra Singh, the officer in question, can be seen sitting in front of his colleagues and anti-corruption officers chewing and swallowing the money he had just taken as a bribe.
He was then brought to a local hospital, where the bribe notes were extracted in the form of pulp from his mouth by the doctors.
