Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR), including Noida and Gurugram, on Saturday witnessed heavy rainfall, resulting in severe waterlogging in several areas.
While the spell of rains brought much-needed respite to the people from the scorching heat of the last few days, some regions are jeopardized by it.
The Regional Weather Forecasting Centre (RWFC) has forecast that the Delhi-NCR region could witness “thunderstorms with light to moderate intensity rains with heavy intensity rain over isolated places and gusty winds with a speed of 30-50 km/hour would occur over and adjoining areas of many places of Delhi.”
Many commuters took to social media to complain about the traffic situation in Delhi and other areas after the heavy rainfall caused waterlogging.
Following the numerous complaints, the Delhi police issued several advisories where they asked citizens to avoid certain routes due to the waterlogging.
