The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday revoked the suspension of its firebrand Telangana legislator T Raja Singh ahead of crucial assembly elections slated to be held next month.
The party’s Central Disciplinary Committee, in a letter to Singh, said that it had revoked the suspension, considering his reply to the show-cause notice served earlier.

“Upon suspension, the Central Disciplinary Committee of the party had issued a show cause notice to you. This refers to your reply to the show cause notice. Your reply and explanation offered therein have been considered by the committee. Basis your reply, the committee has decided to revoke your suspension forthwith”, Om Pathak, Central Disciplinary Committee member secretary, said in the letter.

The Telangana legislator was suspended by the party in August and served a show-cause notice after his remarks against the Islamic Prophet Muhammad triggered controversy.
Singh thanked the party’s leadership on social media for revoking his suspension, posting the letter from the Central Disciplinary Committee.
