A group of 120 personnel from the Indian Army and Air Force departed for Kazakhstan on Sunday to take part in the seventh edition of the Kazind-2023 military exercise starting on Monday.
India and Kazakhstan's armed forces are joining to train together in conducting counter-terrorism operations in a sub-conventional environment under the ambit of the United Nations.
The army personnel will also hold exercises on conducting counter unmanned aerial system operations.
The exercises will provide an opportunity for the contingents to exchange views and share best practices.
The Indian Army team comprises 90 personnel led by a battalion from the Dogra Regiment, whereas, the Kazakhstan contingent includes personnel from Regional Command "South" of the Kazakh Ground Forces.
Around 30 personnel each from the two air forces will also participate in the exercises.
