India to Provide LKR 23Mln to Sri Lanka For Military Training

India will provide another LKR 23 million, or 58,75,900 INR, for the training of the Sri Lankan Armed Forces, the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka said.
The Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka announced that India will provide an additional LKR 23 million, or INR 58,75,900, towards the training of the Sri Lankan Armed Forces, acting Indian High Commissioner Satyanjal Pandey informed top military officials of Sri Lanka on Friday.
"Army Delegation led by Maj Gen Chandana Wickramasinghe met Acting HC @DrSatyanjal to discuss the conduct of upcoming Exercise Mitra Shakti, a bilateral exercise between the Armies and Air Forces of India and Sri Lanka", the High Commission of India in Colombo posted about the delegation's meeting on X (formerly Twitter).

India provided aid of $3.8 billion in July to help alleviate Sri Lanka's dire economic circumstances. In a similar vein, India also extended Sri Lanka's $1 billion credit line by one year in May, providing the island nation in distress with a safety net of funds for necessities.
