The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday dismissed a long-standing contempt of court petition against Nawaz Sharif, the three-time former prime minister of the country.
The case was related to Sharif's anti-judiciary speeches made in 2018.

Presiding over the hearing, the high court chief justice, Aamer Farooq, junked the plea, as there was "no representation on behalf of the petitioner during court proceedings", the Pakistani media reported.

The PML-N leader returned to Pakistan in October, after four year of self-exile in London.
Sharif has managed to come back to his homeland after being granted a protection in graft cases. The accountability court too decided to suspend his arrest warrant.
Attending his first party meeting on return last month, Sharif asserted that PML-N would restart the journey to development from where it was left off.
