BJP Parliamentarians Give Grand Welcome to Modi After Triumph in 3 State Assembly Polls

A BJP parliamentary meeting has been held for the first time since the results of the assembly polls in five states were announced. All BJP members hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for the victory.

Lawmakers of the federally-ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday gave a rousing welcome to Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the parliamentary party meet held during the ongoing winter session of parliament.
The meeting was called to hail Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his leadership and guiding the party to victory in the recently concluded state assembly polls ahead of the proceedings of the fourth day of the session at Balayogi Auditorium in the Parliament House complex.
BJP national president J.P. Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah, several federal ministers and other party parliamentarians were present during the meeting.
Modi was welcomed by the parliamentarians with chants of “Modi ji ka swagat hai” (welcome Modi ji) and applause while Nadda offered him a garland and a shawl.
It was the first meeting of the party after the poll victory in three statesMadhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh and amid suspense over the selection of State Chiefs in the three states.
The saffron party has an important task of selecting potential state chief candidate to lead the new cabinets in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh for the next five years.
The BJP in Madhya Pradesh won 163 out of 230 assembly seats while in Rajasthan it won 115 seats out of 199 assembly seats and in Chhattisgarh the party got 54 out of 90 seats.
The Congress managed to win only 66, 69 and 35 seats respectively in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.
