The Bharatiya Janata Party has won three major Indian states while Congress took southern Telangana in the recent state elections in India. The result is being seen as a big moral boost for BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of the general elections in six months.He thanked the people for their "unwavering support" and assured them that his party will keep working tirelessly for their well-being. "A special thanks to the hardworking Party Karyakartas (workers). Each of them is exemplary! They have worked tirelessly and highlighted our development agenda among the people," he said in his X post.BJP Hails Modi's LeadershipBJP senior politician Rajiv Pratap Rudy told Sputnik India that the results show the people trust Modi."In a state where BJP is ruling [for the] past 18 years (Madhya Pradesh), all the promises made by us are fulfilled, and the victory margin says it all," Rudy said.Pragya hailed what she described as PM Modi's leadership and his acceptance among the masses for more than a decade since 2014."He is our biggest leader we are very proud of him," she said.Congress AchievementCongress, for its par, won the southern state of Telangana.Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge thanked the people of Telangana for the mandate Congress received in the state. "Our performance in these three states has no doubt been disappointing, but with determination, we reaffirm our strong resolve to rebuild and revive ourselves in these three states,' Kharge said.He said that the Congress Party fought a spirited campaign in all these four states. "I acknowledge and appreciate the efforts of lakhs of our workers. We will overcome temporary setbacks and prepare ourselves fully for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections along with the INDIA parties," he said.With the victories, the BJP now rules in 12 states, while Congress will come down to three after losing Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.The four states that went to the polls account for more than 160 million voters and will add 82 seats to the 543-member parliament, which will held in April-May 2024.

Federal-ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was declared the winner in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan on Sunday in key state elections held last month.
The Bharatiya Janata Party has won three major Indian states while Congress took southern Telangana in the recent state elections in India. The result is being seen as a big moral boost for BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of the general elections in six months.
"We bow to the Janta Janardan (electors). The results in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan indicate that the people of India are firmly with politics of good governance and development, which the BJP stands for," Modi wrote on X (formally known as Twitter).
He thanked the people for their "unwavering support" and assured them that his party will keep working tirelessly for their well-being. "A special thanks to the hardworking Party Karyakartas (workers). Each of them is exemplary! They have worked tirelessly and highlighted our development agenda among the people," he said in his X post.
BJP Hails Modi's Leadership
BJP senior politician Rajiv Pratap Rudy told Sputnik India that the results show the people trust Modi.
"In a state where BJP is ruling [for the] past 18 years (Madhya Pradesh), all the promises made by us are fulfilled, and the victory margin says it all," Rudy said.
"The result of the election shows that people continue to bless the BJP and giving us lot of love in the form of votes," BJP politician Charu Pragya told Sputnik India.
Pragya hailed what she described as

Congress, for its par, won the southern state of Telangana.
"Congress has done well in Telangana... Yes, it is disappointing to see losses in three states. We accept people's mandate and work on it," Congress spokeswoman Supriya Shrinate told Sputnik India.
