These attacks did not shake Yemen, as the country has faced the U.S. aggression since 2015, including the use of internationally prohibited weapons, General al-Jafri told Sputnik.
"We knew the U.S. and its agents would strike. With their aggression against Yemen, Washington has opened Pandora's box, which they cannot close. We are ready to respond decisively, and the U.S. and UK must brace for the severe consequences of their actions," he said.
The general accused Washington of attempting to restore its prestige and protect Israeli ships in the Red Sea, suggesting that these actions are a response to an economic crisis and attacks that have brought Israel to "a stage of complete collapse." He also mentioned targeted attacks on Israeli ships as a deliberate decision to seek justice for the oppressed Palestinian people.
"The Yemeni army continues to resist the U.S. and others. We hope for a direct confrontation with the States, avoiding the hybrid wars that Washington instigates through its satellites both domestically and abroad," al-Jafri added.
Houthi leader Abdel Malik al-Houthi has repeatedly warned the U.S. against military campaigns in Yemen. Al-Jafri assured that there would be an appropriate response to the aggression.
He dismissed the impact of the airstrikes on Yemen's military potential, claiming that the targets hit were not genuine.
