Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday stressed that the nation had stood up following witnessing years of slavery after getting inspiration from its past and was creating history now.
The premier made the remarks while addressing a gathering of more than 7,000 VVIPs from across the nation including saints, politicians, sportspersons, Bollywood celebrities, and industrialists after performing the grand consecration ceremony at Ram Temple in Ayodhya city of Uttar Pradesh state.
Minutes after the pran pratishtha (the consecration ceremony of Lord Ram's idol in the temple), Modi congratulated the entire nation on the occasion.
He emphasized that after centuries of struggle, "our Lord Ram has arrived".

“I am here after being a witness to the momentous occasion of the garbh griha (sanctum sanctorum). My entire being is still occupied with that divine feeling,” he stated, as he conveyed a strong message that “our Ram Lalla won’t live in a tent”.

Talking about the grand temple in Ayodhya, the premier said that following the Bhoomi Poojan (groundbreaking ceremony) of the Ram Temple, a surge of enthusiasm and fervency swept through the entire nation.
“Witnessing the ongoing construction, a newfound sense of confidence blossomed among the people. Today, we embrace the patience that cultivated over centuries. And today, we stand before the majestic temple of Lord Ram,” he added.
He even thanked the Supreme Court of India for passing judgement in favour of the Ram Temple.

“Lord Ram is present in the first copy of the Constitution of India. Even after the Constitution came into existence, a legal battle continued for decades over the existence of Lord Shri Ram. I would like to express my gratitude to the Indian judiciary, which has preserved the dignity of justice,” Modi elaborated.

Before the grand consecration ceremony, Modi was under an 11-day rigorous fast, during which he only drank coconut water and slept on the floor as part of the rituals.
Targeting those who had opposed the Ram Temple, Modi maintained that there was a time when some people used to say that if the Ram Temple was constructed there would be riots, but they were not able to understand the purity of the spirit of India.

“The construction of this temple of Ram Lalla is also a symbol of peace, patience, mutual harmony, and coordination of the Indian society. This construction will infuse in a new energy in everyone,” he stated.

Wrapping up his speech, the Prime Minister talked about the country's future, saying that India would not stop here but rather continue to soar and reach unprecedented heights of development.
“Today, with a pure heart, I feel that the time is changing. It is a happy coincidence that our generation has been chosen as an architect of a timeless path. The generation after a thousand years will remember our today's nation-building work,” Modi said.

"From this sacred time we have to lay the foundation of India for the next thousand years and moving forward all of us take a pledge to build a strong, capable, grand and divine India," Modi asserted.

Pran Pratishtha Ceremony

The rituals of the pran pratishtha ceremony at the grand Ram Temple began on 16 January and culminated with the unveiling of the idol of Ram Lalla (the child form of Lord Ram) by Modi on Monday.
Earlier, the Indian leader performed rituals related to the consecration ceremony. During which mantras were chanted, and religious songs were played.
Modi was joined by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh State Chief Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, along with saints and priests of the temple.
While the consecration ceremony was underway inside the temple, a live stream was conducted for the invitees who were sitting inside the premises. The Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopters even showered flowers on the temple.
The entire city of Ayodhya was decorated and security was beefed up across the metropolis due to the VVIP movement.
Apart from this, celebrations were in progress across the country as temples were decorated and people organised religious gatherings where they were singing religious songs and distributing food.
