Hours before Pakistan was due to go to the polls to elect its new government, two bomb blasts in the country's Pishin and Qilla Saifullah districts on Wednesday claimed at least 20 lives and injured scores of others, according to reports.
The death toll could rise as some of the wounded were in serious condition, police officials told the media. The attacks came as political parties were wrapping up campaigning ahead of tomorrow's elections, they added.
The areas affected by the explosions have been cordoned off and the injured have been taken to nearby medical facilities, they announced.
