Rajesh Bagha, an independent observer from India, has said that the electoral process in Russia is more transparent than that in many countries in the world.
“The level of transparency of electoral processes in Russia is unattainable in many countries of the world,” Bagha said at a meeting with Vladimir Mashkov, the co-chairman of the election headquarters of the Russian presidential candidate Vladimir Putin.
“I saw how transparent everything is here. At each polling station there were not even one, but two cameras. I personally communicated with the people who voted. I approached them, asked them questions. I made sure that they were not influenced by any third parties. I was very pleasantly surprised at how transparent everything was,” he said while emphasising that “few countries have such a transparent process,” he added.
Overwhelmed by the response of the Russian voters, the independent observer noted that in Russia, elections are held “like a holiday”, to which whole families come.
“When I came here, I was very pleasantly surprised. In India, we have elections as a holiday and here I saw the same thing. Russia is very close to us, one of our most important partners,” Bagha stated.
Four candidates – Vladimir Putin, Vladislav Davankov, Leonid Slutsky and Nikolai Kharitonov – are vying for the post of head of state.
