Speaking on Canada's fourth arrest in the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, India's External Affairs Minister Jaishankar on Monday said they have not received anything new and specific from the investigative agencies in Ottawa that they can work on.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Jaishankar further said India is ready to investigate if Canada shares any evidence or information related to any violence.
He said, "We have never found anything that is specific and worthy of being examined by our investigating agencies, and I am not aware that anything has changed in that regard in the last few days."
On June 18, 2023, India-designated terrorist Nijjar was shot dead outside a Gurudwara in Surrey, Canada , after which Canada accused India of this murder. Since these allegations, relations between India and Canada have not improved.
In September last year, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had alleged India's involvement in Nijjar's murder. His claim was rejected by India as "absurd and motivated".
