The Russian team moved far beyond the reach of its rivals in the team medal table, winning 50 gold medals on Saturday alone.
The Russian team currently holds 262 gold, 141 silver, and 99 bronze medals. Belarus follows with 55 gold, 85 silver, and 107 bronze medals, while the Chinese team is in third place with 20 gold, 24 silver, and 18 bronze medals.
The 2024 BRICS Games, hosted in Kazan from June 12 to 24, has attracted more than 5,000 competitors from 90 countries.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, in his address at the opening ceremony, emphasized that these Games symbolize growing intercultural dialogue and significantly contribute to promoting international friendship and cooperation.
