"Increasing settlements in local currencies allows us to reduce debt servicing, increase the financial independence of BRICS member countries and minimise geopolitical risks, freeing economic development from politics as much as possible in today's world," Putin said during a meeting with Dilma Rousseff, the head of the BRICS New Development Bank.
The New BRICS Development Bank has financed projects worth $33 billion since 2018, Vladimir the Russian President mentioned.
