"The USAID has been linked to peculiar organisations and individuals. I won't say that these entities have an anti-government agenda, but rather an anti-India agenda. There has been a very peculiar group of human rights activists and so-called liberals supported by the likes of USAID. In the garb of promoting peace, they have actually peddled a certain agenda which has never been in the interest of India," Ganguly stated.
"There should be an audit of USAID activities over the last decade or so. Because we have seen a number of attempts in the last decade to destabilise the Mr Modi's government by creating false narratives and exacerbating fault lines. There have also been attempts to generate fault lines where none existed, and a concerted efforts by USAID-linked entities, at least in a certain section of Indian civil society," Ganguly suggested.
"USAID has always been a dangerous organisation for any nation in which it operates. They have tried to mold perceptions and stoked disaffection by supporting an anti-government agenda under the guise of promoting governance, human rights and democratic reforms," Rodrigues underscored.
"What is clear to many in India that that the USAID has been working with other similar entities such as NED [National Endowment for Democracy], on the diktat of Deep State. The USAID has advanced Deep State's agenda in vulnerable countries such as Bangladesh. So, it's role in destabilising countries such as Bangladesh should be investigated," Rodrigues said.
"The Deep State has effectively used NGOs which are linked to the USAID or NED in some form or the other. There are many layers to these links. So, I believe that USAID has always harboured an anti-Indian agenda," he emphasised.
