"No incidents have been reported, marking the first calm night in recent days," he said.
On the night of May 7, the Indian Defence Ministry said that in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, it had carried out Operation Sindoor, striking "terrorist infrastructure" on Pakistani territory. The ministry said that no Pakistani military facilities had been attacked as part of the operation.
India and Pakistan had already agreed on the afternoon of May 10 to cease all shelling and military actions on land, in the air and at sea, but in the evening of the same day, the head of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah reported the sounds of explosions and the work of Indian air defense near the city of Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir.
Tensions between India and Pakistan escalated after a terrorist attack near the city of Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir on April 22. As a result of the terrorist attack, 25 Indians and one Nepalese citizen were killed.
